Christine Boulanger
Christine Boulanger, MD: doctor by day, SFO supernumerary by night! In her small-town life two hours south of San Francisco, she enjoys beach walks, gardening and other quiet pastimes.
“Life changed dramatically for me a few years ago, when I volunteered to be a supernumerary with San Francisco Opera. Since then I have joined many famous opera singers on the War Memorial Opera House stage, as a popolo in Turandot’s ancient China, a monk, a priestess, a virgin warrior, and country wench. I’ve had breathtaking rides onto the stage on a float as the devil’s fork-wielding accomplice, and spooned under a six-foot moon in a rose-strewn love scene. It has been better than running away and joining the circus!” Dr. Boulanger has been a Bel Canto Legacy Society member since 2013.
